First ER Visit

He was flying.  Literally.  Like Superman.  Lost his footing and slipped on a pillow.  Sailed head first into the door jam.  HARD.  He cried a little and continued playing.  He falls a lot.  He bumps his little body a lot.  I thought nothing more than that.      The day went on and other than a goose egg on his forehead and an already bruised mark, Cooper seemed fine.    Until that night...

Cooper vomited after dinner.   He vomited again after bath.  He vomited 7 times in the next 48 hours.    Friday morning at 4:30, Cooper and I traveled to Children's Hospital in Columbus.  Eric took Riley and Ellie to school and would meet us there.  In route, Cooper vomited again.  It was a very scary time for us.

Children's Hospital has a reputation that stands the test of time.  We were whisked in without waiting one minute.  They were kind, speedy and very focused around Cooper.   He did have a concussion and would have to "rest" for a week.   No stimulating activities, no running, no jumping, no bumping into door jams.

Thankfully our little Superman healed well.  We snuggled, read books, stayed home, missed gymnastics and TRIED not to run.   NEXT time it happens, we will know just what to do!

a little blurry, but can you see his bruise?

"Look, Mama! Potty!"

If only he would use it... :)

SNOW DAY!

It isn't right.
I feel selfish secretly hoping we have a snow day.
We had a two-week Holiday Break, followed by a very short and interrupted first week of the New Year, and now a snow day to start the work week!  Sometimes being a teacher is a difficult task, but days like today, I'M HAPPY TO BE A TEACHER AND SHARE THE JOY IN EVERY
S.N.O.W. D.A.Y.!!

Annual Trip to Frankenmuth

We took our yearly trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan early December.  The little city packs in so much "magic" that we decided to stay an extra day.  This year was even MORE fun because the place where we stay opened a new addition to their indoor water park!   It was ENORMOUS!!    We even visited with the REAL Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, who remember us every year.   Ellie did most of the talking, while Riley patiently waited her turn.  Cooper...well, Cooper tolerated Santa and tried to be on his BEST behavior.  In the end, Cooper gave Santa a high-five.   It was a great weekend getaway.

Grills Siblings 2014

Received our proofs today.  We have a week to preview them.  I hope you can access these...at least while they are available for viewing.  Cooper was sleepy that day and we had a basket of "surprises" to keep him happy.  But in the end, all he really wanted was his Mama.  Enjoy.  #onewillowstudios

Pumpkin Patch

A trip to Lehner's Pumpkin Patch was worth the drive!   We flung pumpkins high into the air with a sling shot, walked through an 8-acre corn maze,  BIG kids rolled around in a GIANT hamster wheel and enjoyed the day with good friends.
